However, sin embargo....?
Buenas tardes a todos,
I have a question regarding the use of "sin embargo." Is it used similar to how "however" is used in English. Por ejemplo:
The police are in the station, however, the robbers, are in the alley.
Las policías son en la ferrocarril, sin embargo, los ladrones son en el callejón.
Or is the word "no obstante" better in this example?
Gracias por ayudarme.

There are three mistakes. Ferrocarril means either a railway or a railroad and is masculine,ie "el". La policía is singular. You must use estar or encontrarse and not ser to describe the location of the police and the robbers.

No, that example would be absolutely correct. 'No obstante' is more like 'nevertheless'. 'sin embargo' does mean 'however'.
