Skipping in Spanish

I'm trying to find a phrase or word that translates into "skip." I'm referring to the skipping a child does, as in skip to my lou.

TIA.

I think there's a children's game called cabra cabriola but I'm not really sure. Cabriola is to jump with the hind legs like a horse would do, in a forward motion like you were suggesting. I have this vague memory of when I was little of hearing that term, cabriola. but I'm not 100%. Sorry I tried.

Yes, those terms are accurate and offer a direct translation but they reflect a standing jumping motion, whereas skipping is kind of a continuous jumping run.

saltar, brincar

La niña salta la cuerda.

El niño brincó por encima del muro.
