Yo necesito ayuda con la tarea

I need help with the paragraph below. Please correct my grammar errors or make any suggestions. An explanation of any changes would be welcomed. Thanks.

Prefiero ir al parque en un día caluroso. Me gusta caminar por el parque, mirando y alimentar a las aves y ardillas. Me suele andar con un amigo, pero a veces me caminar solo. Si se trata de un día caluroso voy a veces traer, un libro y una toalla o algo para sentarse y me sentarse bajo un árbol y leer. Me gusta leer en el parque y ocasionalmente tomando un atisbo de las personas que pasan por. Personas parecen ser amistosos en el parque. Yo no practicar deportes en el parque porque están prohibidas en mi barrio parque.

Thank you for your comments and explaining 'Yo' to me. I rarely use 'Yo' when speaking and never with 'necesito' but I was using it here as a polite gesture (I thought). I will use it with caution in the future.
¿Cómo es esto? ¿Puede alguien me ayude con la tarea?

The construction "Allí acostumbro caminar,..." suggested by Lucía generally takes a preposition: "Allí acostumbro a caminar,...", but both are correct. The verb that you tried to use (soler) is even more common, but you used it as if it was like "gustar", instead of using it "normally":

Suelo andar con un amigo,...

By the way, that "Yo necesito..." makes me feel like asking you what do the rest of the people need, because personal pronouns are used in Spanish for contrast and emphasis. It would be like saying "The others may need something, but in any case, I -regardless of them- need...". "Yo" is not used when you want to talk just about things that you do, but to talk about things that you do and others do, highlighting something that sets you apart from them. In other words, you are including other people in your sentence for a reason, and if you don't make clear why, people will end up wondering: "So what about the rest of the people'".

Cuando hace mucho calor, llevo un libro y un toallón, y me siento debajo de un árbol a leer. Me encanta leer en el parque y ocasionalmente miro a las personas que por allí pasan, ellas parecen ser muy amigables. Yo no practico deportes porque está prohibido hacer este tipo de actividad en el parque de mi barrio.
