Am I the only one from the Netherlands?

Soy de Holanda y he adscrito con este forum ayer.

Estoy curiosa como SpanishDict puede ayudarme aprender español.

Como siempre cuando aprende lenguas extranjeras hablar y escuchar es el más dificíl.

Espero que un amigo de mi, que es de Colombia pero vive en Holanda va a ayudarme con eso.

Holland is a part of the Netherlands.

It is a common misconception that the two are interchangeable.

The Netherlands is Países Bajos. Holland is Holanda.

And yet a person who is born in "los Países Bajos" is called "holandés"...

I see no justification for a literal translation when the country is more commonly known as Netherlands in English and Holanda in Spanish.
