Non-condensing

Question

I did a forum search and I found a previous post about dew point, and that isn't quite what I am looking for.

I am translating a technical specification sheet and it is referring to the humidity conditions that would be conducive for optimal performance.

So, it says Humidity: <85% Non-condensing.

I am thinking that it should be translated to:

Humedad: <85% No-condensando

But, I would like some confirmation.

Any help would be appreciated.

I agree with James. I'd say "sin condensación", but "sin condensar" sounds acceptable too (unlike no-condensado).

Thanks James, and, yes, I do know what condensation is. I don't like how it is written in English, so, naturally that makes it more difficult to translate.

Of course I realized that you know what condensation is, but the point of all my explanation was to help you see what the English means here. That is, it is a non-condensing atmosphere, because the temperature does not allow condensation at a humidity of 85%. Your "no-condensando," aside from sounding unnatural in Spanish to me, doesn't reflect this.

Check out this WR thread, which I just now found. The posters suggest the same words I did, but also give no condensante, which might be the best of all.

As you probably know, condensation is when a material makes a transition from the gaseous phase into the liquid phase, and it is a function of both humidity (the amount of liquid in the atmosphere) and temperature. At a given humidity (say, 85%), the condensation point will vary with the temperature. So this requirement is stating that the humidity must be less than 85%, and the temperature must be high enough to prevent condensation.

I don't think your Spanish works grammatically, and I would suggest "sin condensación" or "sin condensar."
