'My Page' and friends etc.
Is the site going to go back to having our 'home page' and our friends list on it etc? Or is it now going to stay like this? it made it feel more like a proper community before, now I just do my lessons and turn off ...

How about the "My Page'" Are we going to be able to select groups of people to speak with who are at the same level as us? That was a cool feature of the site before the maintenance freeze. This is my first time on the site since it came back up. Or can we do that now and I just didn't find out how to do it? Any suggestions'
Yes you can Estevan 
Look at settings. You gave the possibity of building a private "buddy list" or "ignore list". You can add any number of friends or people to ignore there. You will then not receive any PMs or mails from those members on your ignore list and the buddy list enables you to write PMs easier.

On your private messages page , on the left it says:
Personal settings
Utilities
Private messages
extras
Just to the right of the Private messages tab you have a red cross, which allows you to open that tab and you can see a list of things you are able to to:
PRIVATE MESSAGES [-]
Bulletin Board
Compose New Message
InBox
Sent
Trash
Edit Message Folders
Buddy List
Blocked List
Click on buddy list and there you can add friends on this forum
You can also click on blocked list and add people who annoy you to this list. You will then not receive any messages from those forers.

I think they are trying to widen out the community. Now rather than just communicating with a select group of friends you can PM and email anyone on the site (unless they don't want you to). In other words the default state before was that you could communicate with no one until they became your friend. The default state now is that you can communicate with everyone unless you restrict that. Personally, I like this setup better, but only time will tell if spam and annoying contacts make that a bad idea.
I also like the idea that they expanded to email and instant messaging for communication, especially since their video chat site never worked that well.
I wish they had included Skype and other popular methods of communication as well.
I believe their Buddy List works the same as the Friends list (except that you can't link pictures with names at the moment). I do miss the personal Wall, however.
I think they're still working on it. I now can get my flashcard list when I couldn't a few days ago.
