Sometimes it helps to say it in english to yourself and see if it sounds right. As Cherry indicates, the Spanish would no more 'we arrive it' anymore than we would do in English. So therefore a direct pronoun is out of the question. You wouldn't even be able to create a situation of indirect pronoun or preposition + direct pronoun, i.e. 'we arrive at it' , because it wouldn't be right in any language !

It is often better to just rephrase things, much simpler ! Llegamos alli - we arrive(d) there.

That is a prepositional phrase. You can't replace it with a direct object pronoun. The direct object receives the action of the verb. There is no direct object in this sentence.
