song lyrics - Violeta Parra

I am seeking a literate, literal, poetical translation of Violeta Parra's song La Jardinera. The translations I have seen do not qualify under any of my criteria. Is anyone able to help? I have given it a try but it is very imperfect.

I would like to understand any of the Chilean idiom that appears in this song.

Violata wrote a bunch of good songs. Our Folcklore was her inspiration.

Thank you Gus - I have just read a whole book of interviews with Isabel Allende, in which she says several times that she regards her books as collaborations with her readers -- she writes them, her readers make of them what they will -- in that spirit I am fascinated to hear what you make of these wonderful songs. Thank you for your contribution.

The balm of a lemon tree
the flowers of my garden
My nurses will be

Under my pillow it´ll go

For my gloom purlpe violets
Pink carnation for my passion
And to learn if you love me
a manchineel tree i´ll undress
if you love little, much or not at all
my hearth at ease will stay

Rodrigo -- ¡muchas gracias! I just spent a month in your wonderful country, mostly in Aysén -- I loved it! The Cilenos/as I met were wonderful, full of joie de vivre -- but modest and understated. Someone put me onto Violeta Parra -- I read Poemas y antipoemas a long time ago but was too young and oblivious to know what any of it meant. So now I am trying to understand that Chilean tristeza violeta azul. If you would help I would be most obliged. One stanza at a time would be wonderful! Pardon me if I am just starting to learn Castillano.

A rose bush, here I will plant
it'll have the cruelest thorns
a crown I'll have
when you fly away from me
