Tom:Yes. This is where you post your written work to be reviewed for grammar and any other advice, help or suggestions you ask for.Just remember when you want it looked at to be sure to mark the category as "Proof Reading/Correción de textos.Another thing you might already know is that it's really important to use the spanish accented letters (e.g. - á - é - í etc and punctuation - ¿ - ¡ ) when submitting written work. In case you need it, and if you're using windows as your operating system, print out this attachment and keep it beside your keyboard as you type. If you've already got this under control, I'm sorry if I seem like a goof.
As an alternative, one can run this file and get quick access to the accented characters with Ctrl+Space.
Tom the newguy:
A couple of more advice and suggestion bits. These are meant to be helpful. We all start somewhere and start to learn from that somewhere.
? Do not make entries here in the forum in all capitals. You might not believe it but it slows down peoples reading. It's also been suggested that it's considered to be SHOUTING in type but I can't imagine why a newguy looking for help would be shouting. Go figger.
? Probably you should read the rules for the forum so that you know about them. They're at this page: http://my.spanishdict.com/forum/topic/show'id=1710195%3ATopic%3A329558
If you have any questions when you're done, leave a comment on my profile page. I'm sure you already know, to get to my profile page just click on my picture. (Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz had to click her heels together but theres no need for that here.)? When I said that this was the place to leave stuff to be translated, I didn't mean in this particular page. You should open a new page for each new request. If you give your page a good title, it will attract the help of people perhaps best qualified (as Casper has been here) to help you. I can tell you that you dont want my help a lot because mostly I'm also pretty new. Looking at what you've done so far, I suggest your request to translate is different from your request about how to get help. Your request to translate should have been on a separate page. Fortunately, Casper has jumped in to help you so no harm is done.
I've had nothing but a good community feeling here at SpanishDict.com so even if we make a simple error, there has seemed to be somebody there to catch you when you stumble a set you on the right course. Good luck to you here. Good luck with the other members is almost a given. By the way, when you're cruising around looking at peoples profile pages, I hope you will see I'm not far away from you in Waterloo, Ontario.
the writings contain some chat Spanish, it's hard to decode but i'll try my best, it could have multiple meanings, here is one of them.
"van hacer" should be "van a ser"
Hello Love, thank you for your email, your daughters also are very dear(important) to me, for them being around you, and you love them dearly, same feelings for me, send them my greetings(or say "Hi" to them for me), and from me to you, a biggest kiss ever, i love you... your columbian!
HOLA AMOR GRACIAS , POR TU CORREO Y TUS HIJAS TAMBIEN VAN HACER IMPORTANTES PARA MI , POR QUE LO QUE ESTE EN TU ALREDEDOR Y SON LO QUE MS AMAS PARA MI TAMBIEN LO VAN HACER , ENVIALES UN SALUDO DE MI PARTE UN BESOTEEEEEEEEEE GRANDE MI VIDA , TE QUIERO MUCHO... TU COLOMBIANA ...
Hi Moe,
I'm pretty green at this, so you'll have to forgive me . I am just starting to learn spanish. I have a new friend and it will be helpful.
Here is a sample of what she sent me. :
HOLA AMOR GRACIAS , POR TU CORREO Y TUS HIJAS TAMBIEN VAN HACER IMPORTANTES PARA MI , POR QUE LO QUE ESTE EN TU ALREDEDOR Y SON LO QUE MS AMAS PARA MI TAMBIEN LO VAN HACER , ENVIALES UN SALUDO DE MI PARTE UN BESOTEEEEEEEEEE GRANDE MI VIDA , TE QUIERO MUCHO... TU COLOMBIANA ...
So as you can see it interesting, i try to use the online translator but i think it needs interpretation.
What are your thoughts.?
Beginner,
Tom
