How do you spell "chefs" in Spanish? I thought it was just "c-h-e-f-s" but my Spanish Mircosoft Word keeps thinking it is spelled wrong...

Thanks

Hola, buena pregunta. El diccionario panhispánico de dudas dice:

chef. Voz tomada del francés chef ('jefe'), que se emplea en español con los sentidos de 'jefe de cocina de un restaurante? y, especialmente, 'cocinero profesional de grandes dotes y reconocido prestigio'. Es común en cuanto al género (el/la chef; ? género2, 1a y 3j): «'Hay gente que dice que no le gusta el chocolate', murmura la chef, increíblemente esbelta» (NHerald [EE. UU.] 17.4.97). Su plural es chefs

Your spell checker is wrong, and you and Ninoska are right.

Spanish to English: chef
chef
(pl chefs)

Not "chefes" because it is a foreign loan word.
