Hola a todos.

No sé cómo decir en inglés: México no ha sido ajeno al crecimiento poblacional mundial ni al impacto de la población en el ambiente.
ÿste es mi intento fallido: Mexico has not.......... to global population growth neither to population impact on environment.

Otra consulta más: ¿cómo puedo decir que algo es 20 veces mayor que un tamaño de referencia? Puedo decir quizá: This is 20 times as the reference size.

¿podrían ayudarme?
Gracias

You could also say "Mexico has been no stranger to global population growth nor to population impact on the environment.

En cuanto a tu pregunta sobre "20 veces mayor..." yo diría: "this is 20 times (the reference size.)"

Literally, it means something like "not related to", "not connected with", "not within the realm of", plus extensions of this idea. Here, you could think about translations such as "has not been immune to", "has not been exempt from", "has not been unaffected by", "has not been excluded from", or even turn the sentence round: "... has not passed Mexico by", "...has not gone unnoticed in Mexico".
