I just discovered that you can get the conjugation for verbs at this site: http://buscon.rae.es/draeI/ which is very official! DICCIONARIO DE LA LENGUA ESPAÿOLA - Vigésima segunda edición
But as for a list, well, it should be easy enough to make one from any list of verbs. For example, list your verbs for which the infinitive ends in "ar", remove the "ar" and add "-ando." For infinitives ending in "er" or "ir", you also remove the "er" or "ir" and replace with "-iendo".
tomando
comiendo
escribiendo
And for the words that would then end up with an unaccented "i" such as leer, you replace the "i" of the "-iendo" with a "y"
leyendo
Some irregular forms are
decir diciendo (notice, the "i" in the gerund instead of an "e"?
venir viniendo
pedir pidiendo
reir riendo
sentir sintiendo
and then:
poder pudiendo
dormir durmiendo
morir muriendo
What Lazarus1907 may mean is that the gerunds are used in a different way in English. We use them as nouns, for example, and in Spanish, one uses the infinitive for a similar purpose.
The main reasons taught to a beginner for using the gerund in Spanish are these:
1) to express an action that is taking place, in progress right now
2) to express some action that is continuing (for this purpose, the Spanish speaker would use the verb "seguir" plus the gerund)
3) to link to closely related actions, such as "we walk" and "we chat" .. Paseamos charlando.
There may be others, but I do not know them because I, too, am a beginner.
I'm sorry,what'
Conjugate is probably the right word, but their usefulness in English is so trivial, that its usefulness is rather "debatable".
