I am going to the shops for shopping! Is the sentence construction correct? Thanks all

I agree with LadyDi, and to me even the English sounds redundant. I mean, why else would you go to the shops?
Ir de compras is a set phrase meaning to go shopping. You could say "Voy de compras al centro," "Voy de compras a la tienda que está en la esquina," etc., or if you specify what you are going to buy, you can say "Voy a la tienda para comprar leche," etc.
"[...] de compras" sounds better but to me it seems a bit redundant. Maybe you should just say, "Me voy de compras," unless you really want to stress something.
