A kind of Mexican shrimp? "Way-Miss"

My parents are planning a trip to Mexico, and all my father can talk about was this type of shrimp he had 20 years ago. He pronounces it "Way-Muss", but I have tried every variation on that pronunciation and can't find anything like that. Does anyone have any ideas about what this could 'actually' be pronunced as, if he is actually butchering the pronunciation? Juemas? Something completely different?

Thanks so much!

Shrimp would be camarón or gamba. I honestly have no idea.
