Please check my translation of a speech

Por favor, corregir mi traducción de un discurso de President Bush.

(La traducción mismo no tan importante como a mí, como el texto hace frases correctas, por eso, no he proveído el texto original.)

Durante los últimas ochos años, he tenido el honor de hablando al estadounidenses los sábados por la mañana a causa de este discurso radial. En cientos de emisiónes, he hablado a os sobre los asuntos importantes, que afectan nuestra seguridad y nuestra prosperidad. Y hoy, en mi discurso final, quiero enviar un mensaje sencillo y sentido: gracias.

Hace ocho años, Laura y yo salimos nuestra casa en Texas venir a Washington. Entre dos mandatos en la Casa Blanca, hemos estado bendecidos por las palabras amables, y oraciones generosas. Hemos estado inspirados por aquellos que extende alimentar a los que tienen hambre, vestir los necesitados, y cuidar por los enfermos. Hemos estado conmovidos por el valor y devoción de aquellos a los que llevar una uniforme. Sirvir como su presidente ha estado un honor increíble.

Como todas las personas a las que han ocupados este puesto, he experimentado contratiempos. Hay cosas que hacería distintamente si tenía la opción. Aún, siempre he actuado con los interés mejor de nuestro país en mente. He seguido mi conciencia y he hecho que pensé era correcto. No podéis acordar con unas decisiones duras que he hecho. Pero espero que acordáis que estuve listo hacer las decisiones duras.

Start with "provisto" but the gerund form does not usually carry over into spanish so "I have been speaking" would be better translated "Durante los últimas ochos años, he tenido el honor de hablar a estadounidenses los sábados por la mañana a través de este discurso radial. En cienes de emisiónes, les he hablado sobre asuntos importantes que afectan nuestra seguridad y nuestra prosperidad. Y hoy, en mi discurso final, quiero enviar un mensaje sencillo y sincero: gracias.

Aún así, siempre he actuado con los mejores interés de nuestro país en mente. He seguido mi conciencia y he hecho lo que pensé era correcto. Quizá no estén de acuerdo con alguunas decisiones difíciles que he hecho. Pero espero estén de acuerdo que estuve dispuesto a hacer las decisiones difíciles.

"Un honor" is clearly a noun, so "estar" is unacceptable.

Yep, I checked it and you were right, we have to use the comma.It is curious, I'm a native spanish speaker and i didnt know that, hehe. Well, as i said before i rarely write letters. An advice about "estar": never use it with nouns (unless introduced without prepositions):

Sirvir como su presidente ha estado un honor increíble.

"Un honor" is clearly a noun, so "estar" is unacceptable.

Thanks for the very quick responses - I appreciate it.

I'm quite pleased with my effort, on the whole.

The 'n' thing was a mistake - I know how important it is, and meant to change them, but forgot.

I need to revise 'a las que' because I got that wrong a lot.

Lots of personal 'a's missing.

Infinitives after propositions - I should have known better!

Ser/Estar - need to revise those (again).

Hopefully the next one will be better.

No podéis estar de acuerdo con las decisiones duras que he hecho tomado. Pero espero que recordéis que estuve listo dispuesto a tomar hacer las decisiones más difíciles duras (duras = hard to break, even when you use a hammer).
