help with making comparisons?

Hi! I'm suspose to write a sentence making a comparison between the person described in the first sentence and the person described in the second. (Use the english words as cues). I was wondering if what i did was right? Also for some of them I wasn't sure which method to use so I have both.

1. Maria es muy, muy linda. Alicia es linda (pretty)
   Alicia es no tan linda como Maria or Maria más linda que Alicia

2. Mario tiene poca suerte. Carlos tiene mucha suerte. (lucky)
   Mario no tan suerte como Carlos or Mario tiene menos suerte que Carlos?

3. Pedro sacó una A. José sacó una C. (intelligence)
   José es no tan inteligente como Pedro.

4. Ana baila bien Alicia baila mejor. (worse)
   Ana baila peor que Alicia

5. Mi padre tiene cincuenta años. Mi madre tiene cuarenta. (older)
   Mi padre más viejo que mi madre or Mi padre tanto viejo que mi madre

6. Mi hija mayor habla claramente. Mi Hija menor habla claramente también (clearly)
   Mis hijas hablan tan claramente.

7. Alberto es guapo. Juan es feo. (handsome)
   Juanes no tan guapo como Alberto.

8. Mi amigo ireladés tiene veintiún años. Mi amgia inglesa tiene veintitrés (younger)
   Mi amigo ireladés más menor que mi amiga inglesa.

9. Hace frío aquí. Hace muchísimo frío afuera (cold)
   Hace no tan frío aquí como hace frío afuera. or Hace más frío afuera que aquí

10. Dolores tiene cien dólares. Juana también tiene cien
    Dolores y Juana tienes tanto dinero

Of course. Spanish uses nouns where English would use an adjective. I'm suprised, though, if tanto(a) was included in the lesson that they didn't give an example of it used with a verb as well as a noun.

   8.. Mi amigo irelandés es menor que mi amiga inglesa. Mi amiga inglesa no es menor que mi amigo irelandés.
8. No hace tan frío aquí como afuera. Afuera hace más frío que aquí. Aquí hace menos frió que afuera.

As you can see when they only give the the adjective (handsome) there are various ways to make the comparison by using both positive and negative sentences. is as...as; is not as....as is more...than; is not more...than; is less... than; is not less...than.
