Invited to a Quinceñeras - Protocols?
Estimados compadres,
He sido invitado a mi primer Quinceñeras, de una muchacha en mi pueblo. Tengo preguntas, como: es normal a traer un regalo? Como grande? Dinero es suficiente? Cuanto?
Yo sé que necesita llevar ropa buena, y necesita estar listo a bailar! Pero no conozco esta joven, no hemos encontrados!! Solo conozco su padre un poquito.
Si pueden ayudarme en la deportamente de este ceremonio importante, muchas gracias.
Y una cosa mas... yo he escrito todo aqui sin la ayuda de la "traduccion" seccion de nuestro sito, para mi valor! Es que puedo hacer sin ayuda. Entonces sé bien que hay muchas errores. Espero que es posible a entender mi pregunta!!!

As Natasha mentioned customs vary by country and even by region so it would be helpful to know where this quinceñera will be. I live in a small Mexican village and have attended many quinceñeras but what is right here may not be right there.
Where I am from this is not the correct use of compadres. When you have been the padrino of someones child then you become compadres with their parents. Think of the word as co-parent; you have become a co-parent with them by taking a role in their child's life. Of course this maybe different where you are at, but ask around for the correct usage.
If you spell it correctly, (quinceañera), you can search on google and find some info. Customs appear to vary by country. You might get a better response here to your questions about what's expected if you posted in "Culture and Travel."

Espero que usted tiene muchas oportunidades a vestirse de gala tambien. A ver, si le gusta ventirse de gala! Entiendo que algunos hombres prefiere vestirse casualments, y no estan comodos cuando necesitan vestirse de gala, o llevar los conjuntos muy formales.

dress up = arreglarse, or vestirse de gala
we have never met = no nos hemos conocido
nice outfit = un conjunto muy bonito
Of course, the best translations will vary with the exact context.
