I came across this in a novel. I assume it's tomarla but spelt phonetically? Is there a rule for this'

Another example of how wonderful this forum is!! I learned this form only about a week ago yet did not recognize it upon reading the forum entry. Well...I should not have said I "learned", perhaps, but rather "read about"grin Now I think I will recognize it next time!
