understand spanish but cant speak

Question

has this occurred to anyone? I can understand Spanish but I cant speak well. I watch local Spanish TV, and I have no problems with the comprehension. I understand when people talk to me, but it takes a long time for me to form my sentences and reply.

The simple answer is more practice and concentrate on the area(s) in which you feel yourself to be weakest. In this case I'd suggest that you practice by talking to yourself. For example describe (to yourself) the things that you are doing as you do them. e.g. "I'm buying a newspaper to read on the train." "I'm getting in the car to go shopping." "Now that I've finished my homework, perhaps I'll watch a bit of TV". etc. If it takes time to compose the sentence, then try repeating it several times with an eye/ear toward more rapid/natural delivery.
