what does corteses mean as in :
Vosotros sois corteses.
I did not find this word in the spanish/english online dictionary.

Yes, those meanings are correct. Just a tip...the reason you probably couldn't find it is because it's in plural form. When you something like that doesn't come up, always look to see if there's a possibility the word could be changed to the masculine singular, and then you will probably find it!
