I have a question: the dictionary definition of "trapiche" is a sugar mill, but the context of this passage is copper mining, Has anyone any idea what an alternative translation of "trapiche" in this context could be?

Thank you very much!!!

That's really useful to know as the text I'm translating is about that specific area; Chile specifically, but also northeast Argentina and Bolivia. Thank you all very much!!!

As you probably know the use of a mill or a press is to crush things. Collins states that trapiche is used as an ore crusher, as Vikingo has already said, but says it´s mainly used in the Andes and the cono sur ie, argentina,Chile, Paraguay, Uruguay and Costa Rica.
