I tried searching for the spelling Laxagel, and that does get some hits. Here is one: http://www.market88.com/nutritional/anline/laxagel.asp

I looked at this site. Here's part of what it said:

"Natural herbal laxative in a soft gelatin form with no preservatives added. Taken as directed and combined with a proper diet, exercise and adequate fluid intake, Laxagel is safe and effective in reducing the occurrence of constipation."

You could leave out the first part and just say " A proper diet, exercise and adequate fluid intake are effective in reducing the occurrence of constipation."

Be very careful of over-the-counter food supplements, especially those made in one country, sold in a second to customers from a third... ( I know it was "prescribed", but it appears to also be an otc)

This medication is from Mexico and I copied the letters off straight from the box of meds.

Then your husband might want to toss the pills. Any medication produced by a respectable company will have some Web presence, such as sites where it is recommended, or sites discussing its performance in the drug studies that the FDA mandates for any drug sold in the US. If the drug did not undergo formal testing, it might be useless or, worse, dangerous.

This medication was prescribed to my husband but he is being secretive about it

It's hard to believe that a real medication name would have no web presence whatsoever, which is the case here. Either Laxugel is not the correct spelling, or you've got some suspicious medicine there.

You better read the prescription, rather than asking us to guess. Some drugs can kill.
