In addition to Lazarus's good advice, I'll say that when your "sorry" is followed by an expression indicating what you are sorry for, the construction is as follows.

If the expression refers to what you did:
Siento habertelo dicho.
I'm sorry I said that to you. (Or, I'm sorry I told you.)

If the expression refers to what someone or something else did:
Siento que + indicativo = I feel that...
Siento que + subjuntivo = I'm sorry that...

Siento que me vas a engañar = I feel that you are going to trick me.
Siento que me vayas a engañar = I'm sorry that you are going to trick me.

"Lo siento" is the most used expression. Another alternatives is "Lo lamento", but this sounds more formal.
