Need help with translating the punch line...
From Selecciónes:
Dos amigas hablaban por teléfeno, y una le dice a la otra:
--¿Cómo se te ocurrió engañar a tu novio con su mejor amigo?
::--¿Qué querías que hiciera si no me presentó a otro'::
I'm usually good at getting the sense of these little jokes when I can see them written out, but this one has me stumped. What does the punch line mean?
And by the way, what is the word for punch line in Spanish'

I like yours the best. I was wondering why it said

" because he didn't introduce me to anyone else."

It's kind of a dumb joke. But it is a play on the "best friend" part of the question rather than the "cheating" part of the question. Paraphrased Answer - "well I cheated on him with his best friend because he didn't introduce me to anyone else."
¿Cómo se te ocurrió engañar ... ? How could you think to cheat ...? In this case ocurrirse is not occur in the sense of something happened but, rather, in the sense of "It (and idea) occurred to me that ..."
I think the punchline means, "What did you want me to do if he did not introduce me to anybody else'" As in, 'he should've introduced me to someone else so as to not start something with, of all people, his best friend.' She would've cheated on him with anybody, I think, is what it boils down to.
I am not quite sure how correct I am, but here goes:
"two friends speak by telephone, and one says to the other," (This is where I'm not quite sure of the translation) "How did you happen (manage) to decieve your boyfriend with his best friend'" (or possibly "how did you manage to cheat on your boyfriend with his best friend') "What did you want me to do, make it so I did present him to the other'"
Sorry if it is a bit sporadic. Hope this helps!
Two girfriends were speaking on the phone and one says to the other:
"How did it happen that you cheated on your boyfriend with his best friend'"
or "How did it occur to you to cheat on your boyfriend with his best friend"
"What would you have me do (What am I to do) if he didn't introduce me to him"
I think it is saying "How else could I meet him if he wasn't going to introduce us to each other".
Since this is a grammar forum: notice the tense discrepancy in the first line: were talking and not . Just had to throw that in.
