How do you say "You could injure yourself or other people" in Spanish? I'm working on a poster about being healthy for Spanish, and so far on that sentence I have "Puedes lesionarse [yourself] o otro personas." However, I think that I've conjugated "lesionarse" incorrectly. I would appreciate the assistance!

My friend Lazarus, that's Spanish for you! I know it sounds redundant the use of two "te's", but that is something that you can do in Spanish and still be grammatically correct.

You can say ¨Te puedes lastimarte a ti o a otros¨

I find that alternative unacceptable, for two reasons. First, it has a double "te", and second, I read that sentence asraspberryuedes lastimarte a ti mismo, o puedes lastimarte a otros.

Puede lesionarse usted , o lesionar a otros¨ would be a right way of putting it. YOU used the familiar part puedes with the formal part lesionarse, for one thing. If you use the word puedes, which is familiar, you hav
e to use the conjugation lesionarte.
Is my explanation satisfactory to your query'

"Puedes lesionarte, o lesionar a otros" would be correct for the "tú" form. You don't need any equivalent for "yourself" with that "-te", but unfortunately, you cannot mix that reflexive "-te" with "other people", so you must repeat the verb for others, or find a synonym.

Another alternatives:

"Puedes lesionarte a ti mismo, o hacérselo a los demás"
"Puedes lesionar a otros, o hacerte daño tú mismo"

I'd suggest "Puedes lastimarte a ti mismo o a otros" or "Puedes hacerte daño a ti mismo o a otros."

That "a ti" demands that you also say "te", and doesn't have an accent. Of course, once you use that reflexive "te", referring to others as well results in a weird mix, as it sounds like "... o lastimarte a otros" (injure yourself to others)

I'd suggest "Puedes lastimar a tí mismo o a otros" or "Puedes hacer daño a tí mismo o a otros."
