Males ocultos del corazón

This is a headline on the cover of Selecciones. I a little confused about the "males", I would think malos, but obviously not. No doubt it's like buenes raíses, maybe adjectives before nouns take a different form'

"Mal" here is not and adjective or an adverb, but a noun, and it translates as disease, harm, evil,... or any other "bad thing".
