Becomming an advanced student with Pimsleur or others.

Hello, I searched through the archives and didn't find an answer to this question:

Is there anyone here who has actually become an advanced student of Spanish from using Pimsleur, Rosetta Stone, Rocket Spanish or the like?

Thanks for sharing!

"The question is what is an advanced student? It seems that the more any student of Spanish learns the less likely they are to call themselves fluent."
Yeah, that is very true. I have studied different languages few years now. One of them is Spanish. Sometimes I feel that I know lots of those languages but sometimes I feel that I don't know only a little of them. I think that if a student wants to speak "fluently" a language, which one is studing, it takes years and years to be "a fluent" or it might never happen.

"When it comes to language there is always more to learn."
And that is the thing which I find very interesting in languages and it keeps me going.

Ps. I am studying English too, so I am not a fluent English speaker. smile

I have not used any of these myself, nor do I know anyone who has gone very far with them. Usually they start out thinking that it is great, but after a while they find it isn't sufficient . I can't imagine how anyone can really learn enough (but then what is enough') without being immersed in the culture and language. The question is what is an advanced student? It seems that the more any student of Spanish learns the less likely they are to call themselves fluent. When it comes to language there is always more to learn.
