If you go to System Preferences, there is an "International" option. In "International," there is a tab labeled "Languages" and you can drag your preferred languages into the order that you like. If you then go to the "Input Menu" tab under "International," you can choose which input menus you like (e.g. US English, Spanish, Portuguese, etc.), and then click on the option that reads "Show input menu in menu bar." Once you have done that, a little flag will show up next to the time and date stamp (an American flag for US English, a Spanish flag for Spanish, etc.), and you can click it and switch between inputs. Under the Spanish input, the colon ( key is "ñ" and hitting the bracket keys (and shift + bracket) before a letter will input different accents.
Shift + 1 makes the ¡ while shift + 2 will make !. Shift + the comma will do ¿ and shift + the period will do '.
Exclamation point - Option+1
Question mark - Shift+Option+?
