I didn't want to be the 1st person to "go out on a limb" but (after Eddy's reply), it might also be a reference to the old French coin (monetary unit).

You have provided no context! it's not even clear whether this is a normal word written entirely in caps of some sort of abbreviation. There are a number of knowledgeable people in this forum but (as far as I know) no mind readers.

This is probably Portuguese and you are mistaking it for Spanish. It is derived from the verb "Ser" meaning to be. It is the first person present indicative, Eu Sou - I am. They have probably just dropped the personal pronoun leaving "sou".

t, please provide context, as Quentin suggested. (Where did you hear / see this? What was the sentence') It sounds like an abbreviation, so without context we can't even guess.

You get various hits when you google SOU. I think that, however, they are deleting discussions where context is not provided, so it wouldn't serve much purpose to provide links..
