Medical Receptionist Needs Help with Phrases
Hi I work in a very busy clinic and I have numerous patients who speak nothing but spanish. Sometimes I have to ask them to do things but I don't know how to say it. For example, "you need to have bloodwork done today." and directions on how to get to the lab. "please go left out of the door and turn right when you pass the restrooms, then please come back to the clinic." I know it's a mouthful but these are essential at the time and I can't always get a translator when I need one lol.
Thanks in advance.

"you need to have bloodwork done today." = Necesita tomarse un exámen de sangre hoy
The above just if you are asking for a blood test ,you are not very especific about the blood work.
"please go left out of the door and turn right when you pass the restrooms, then please come back to the clinic."
Por favor cuando pase la puerta haga una izquierda y luego haga una derecha cuando pase los baños. Cuando termine por favor vuelva a la clinica.
Hope this helps. Spanish is my native thong!
pauline, you just gave two examples and i would suggest there are many more. the only advice i would give is that you join a spanish beginners class local to where you live. you could learn some phrases here but you would not know how to say them.
