hi everyone, can anybody tell me what does ¨no me diga¨ mean in the context:

-¿Qué hace?
- Soy geólogo.
-¿No me diga? Yo también.
-¡Qué coincidencia!

A lot of times I hear people saying "Is that right'" I guess is also used in the same way.

Actually, none of those translations really match into the sentences above, where its meaning is closer to "Really'" than it is to "Never!".

My idea of a "good dictionary" is one in simple and clear Spanish. If you understand what "sorpresa" and "noticia" mean, then you should be able to understand the explanation I wrote above from a dictionary.

And if the good dictionary is still being shipped, you can use the site dictionary, which says:

¡no me digas! -> no!, never!

¡no me digas que no te gusta! -> don't tell me you don't like it!
