Funny expressions: ¡Está como unas castañuelas!
Same thing: ¡Está de atar!
I thought this the other day when I read a post or comment.
How would we say this in English, same style?
The above can mean:
He/she is so happy he can't belive it! or
He/she is completely crazy!

estar como unas castañuelas -> to be extremely happy, estar muy feliz
doesn't apply to the completely crazy definition, but for the first one:
He/she was beside himself, or like a pig in sh_t. (insert your own vowel, you know which one)
Castañuelas are castanets, right? (I left my paper dictionary at home, and the site dictionary will only let us look up castanuela without the tilde.)
She´s tickled pink . . . (might be regional)
Surely some other people will come up with something better.
