necesito alguna ayuda con una traducción porque no tiene sentido

No articulábamos ideas, sólo sonidos. O sea, que crecimos entre el gusto por la retórica y el placer del grito.
A veces me pregunto si no continuamos apresados entre esos dos registros, porque mentimos bien y gritamos mejor, pero tenemos dificultades para articular ideas.

Mi Intento:

apresadods mean jailed. in the sentence above stuck works betterr that jailed between two .....

searches is wrong here 'cause we are not looking for registers we are not looking for something, we are expressing something, mainly ideas or sounds
