I keep thinking "Descánsate." sounds right. Am I completely off base'
I wonder if we would really say "Descansa" in situations where we say "Get some rest."
- Man, I'm tired. I've been digging that ditch for 8 hours.
Go home and get some rest.
I think I'll quit now, I'm pretty sleepy.
- OK, get some rest.
If we do use descansa, I think we might add "un poco" or "un rato." Could we also say "Tómate un respiro"'
Gracias por sus sugerencias - todos son bienvenidos.
Even easier:
Descansa.
Descansar = get (some) rest.
Spanish has many verbs which in English are expressed with "get" and a past participle, like "vestirse" ("get dressed"), "emborracharse" ("get drunk").
Another suggestion: after "estar seguro" you always say "de"; no exceptions.
One way to say it: Que descanses.
