Hola:

Cómo se dices:
"Get some rest".

No estoy seguro cual verbo usar. Pensé quiza obtener, pero hay demasiado opciones en el diccionario...

I keep thinking "Descánsate." sounds right. Am I completely off base'

I wonder if we would really say "Descansa" in situations where we say "Get some rest."

  • Man, I'm tired. I've been digging that ditch for 8 hours.
  • Go home and get some rest.

  • I think I'll quit now, I'm pretty sleepy.

  • OK, get some rest.

If we do use descansa, I think we might add "un poco" or "un rato." Could we also say "Tómate un respiro"'

Even easier:

Descansa.

Descansar = get (some) rest.
Spanish has many verbs which in English are expressed with "get" and a past participle, like "vestirse" ("get dressed"), "emborracharse" ("get drunk").

Another suggestion: after "estar seguro" you always say "de"; no exceptions.
