You could also say "a continuación" to mean "below" or "the following."

You could say "Véase la explicación más abajo", "Siga las instrucciones de más abajo". However, normally we refer to diagrams and examples that are immediately below, so we say:
Véase la siguiente explicación/ el siguiente diagrama/esquema".
If they don't follow immediately, normally we give them a number and we say "Véanse los ejemplos 12 y 13", for example.
