what does it mean? if this the right spelling'

There is a good probability that the word is "desafinado" (out of tune), but if you don't give us a context, we will be guessing in vain.

Desafanado is a term used in Mexico when referring to someone who is flaky, does not keep in contact, anti-social, etc.....

Maybe it has to do with the word "afán" ("prisa") which in English means "to rush" but in this context might mean more like "inclination" or "need". I am not sure. I would have to see it in a complete sentence.

The word is not in either our or RAE's dictionary.

If you google desafanar you'll get lot's of hits.

With many word "des" is like "un" in English hacer-to do, to make deshacer-to undo

But looking up afanar-I didn't get a good feel for desafanar. (..ado just being the adjective form) I suggest you read the hits online.
