lleva cuatro anos escribiendo 100 frases sentenciosas al mes para la empresa de su padre, la M&Y trading service company, de san fransisco, que produce 90 por ciento de las tiras de papel con dichos y refranzas usadas por los fabricantes de galletas de la fortune en ese pais.

Here's a rough translation, but as I said before, post something that you can try yourself. For four years he/she has been writing 100 phrases a month for his/her fathers company, blah, blah, blah, that supplies 90% of the paper strips containing sayings and proverbs use in the manufacture of fortune cookies in this country.

i have to read and write a summary on an article from "selecciones" and i'm having some trouble on it because many of the words arre vocab that i am not familiar with, and even when i look up some of the words, the meaning is lost to me because of the grammer and sentence structure.

It is along those lines. Are you copying your posts from a book. I have to ask because you have posted a number of similar phrases in Spanish when it would appear you are a beginner. Nothing wrong in that but why don't you try something a lot easier to start with.

Meghan, you need to attempt this first yourself. Post your best attempt in English, and then we can help. Otherwise, you are not learning anything.
