It comes from the verb haber, but the correct form is : haya.

Matias, I don't think that is right. There is no need to use the subjunctive after "seguro que." Pisacabello's suggestion seems the most likely.

En este caso sin embargo, pienso que sería mejor decir "había", como pisacaballo lo ha dicho.
