What are some key spanish Phrases or sentences to memorize?

I wanted to know some key phrases that one should learn in spanish so I can memorize sentences as I learn the basic vocab... any tips would be nice, My son is half hispanic and white on my side and I want to lean spanish so he can be bi lingual as well.

I think I would have phrased the 4th line in the familiar form (especially, if he's talking to his child).

I especially like the last phrase. Should one assume from this that you, too, are a parent?
