norvice

Hehe

Someone once told me there's a word for that: making an error while pointing out a similar error made by another person. But I can't remember the word right now.

Checking very carefully for my own typos,

James

This is not specific to Costa Rica, and is seen in all Hispanic countries. It's a matter of education, not geography.

Other similar mistakes are mixing up S and Z and C, and omitting the H. Also, omitting vowels that are aren't fully pronounced in speech, such as "voy hacer" instead of "voy a hacer."

Other meanings for venir are as follows

To arrive - vinieron en coche - They arrived (came) by car
To originate - sus zapatos vienen de Italia - Her shoes originate from Italy
To fit - te viene un poco grande - It's a little big for you

The letters "b" and "v" are almost indistinguishable for English speakers, which is why you probably made the mistake.

thanks for that ,makes sense that its venir ,makes it harder to understand if mistakes are made .wondered if it was some local name as speaking to someone in costa rica

Hi
It must be "venir". Venir means "to come".
