I have also heard two weeks to be referred to as "quince dias". Which literally means fifteen days, but is used to refer to two weeks' time.

A two week period or a fortnight in English translates to "una quincena" in Spanish which is actually one day over, 15 days. There is no correct single word in Spanish for a 2 week period. One would say simply "dos semanas", ie 2 weeks.

yeah - you are right - I have my brain a little crossed today which is why I can't think of how to translate farra :(
I can't say party really - there's got to be a more correct word for it.
