Is betun a U. S. spanish word for frosting/glaze'? I need to make sure that this is the US spanish translation.

As far as I know, this is shoeshine. A word for frosting is "escarcha".
I am stunned!!! This would sound REALLY FUNNY in Spain!
Tarta con betún....genial!!!
bolsa de masa para rollos de canela con betún..............
According to the dictionary (see Vernic's comment below), in Honduras and El Salvador it is a mix of sugar and egg whites mixed, used for cakes. In any other country (or in a different context in the previously mentioned countries), it is either shoe polish or bitumen.
I thought maybe it was meringue, but it's icing or frosting
Used in Mexico
bolsa de masa para rollos de canella con betun..............I need to make sure I proper spanish for a US market and I think betun is used more in certral america not US.
In Central america and Mexico "betún" also can be an admixture of sugar and egg white, that is used as decoration of some cakes and candies. (as the frosting paste)
