Could someone please tell me how you say blueprint en español? Or prints that you read in order to weld something'

True: "cianotipo" is used in architecture, but it is a word no one knows out of this field.

There are several words, each with a slightly different meaning:
copia al amoniaco
diseño (design, obviously)
anteproyecto (pre-project)
cianotipo (literally "blue print")

Probably what you´re looking for would be diseño or anteproyecto.

Many years ago, blue prints were actually blue. I remember creating blue prints in my architecture drafting class (no, I'm not an architect--I just did a little construction back in the 1970s).

It depends, but normally (ante)proyecto, or plano if it is a drawing.
