I had a problem when I was trying to translate one sentence from a famous song - tú me pides que te deje ahora, ahora, ahora cuando más te necesito. I couldn´t find out what the regular verb is for "pides".
Por favor alguien puede dímelo.

Gracias de antemano,

Marco

Pides is from the verb "pedir" - to ask for.
"Tú me pides que te deje ahora" - You ask me to leave you now.

It is also the fact that when conjugating a verb, the English equivalent has three meanings,

Yo hablo - I talk, I do talk, I am talking.

so "pides" means you ask, you do ask, you are asking.

Deje is the subjunctive. I think it's correctly used here, but James is the expert.

Traducido directamente

¿Cuánto pides por el coche?
es
How much do you ask for the car?

but that doesn't sound good to us so we say:

How much are you asking for the car?

which tranlated directly to spanish is

¿Cuánto está pidiendo por el coche?

Enctonces a fin de cuentas las dos oraciones dicen lo mismo solo son un poco diferente para que queda bien para cada idioma.

En inglés la frase=
¿Cuánto pides por el coche?
tengo entendido que se dice=
How much are you asking for the car?

¿Por qué en esta frase se escribe Asking for the car
y no Ask for the car'
