Spanish seems to have adopted "desafortunadamente" from English, because the traditional expression was "por desgracia". The word "desafortunadamente" does not appear in the many common monolingual dictionaries (e.g. Real Academia, María Moliner, Vox), although it is getting increasingly popular.

"Unfortunately", Spanish speakers tend to translate everything word by word from English.
