My dictionary gives a reference as Yeso meaning Tiza but the majority of references relate to Gypsum or Plaster ie
yeso mate - plaster of paris
dar de yeso a una pared - to plaster a wall
For me Chalk is tiza and yeso is gypsum
I have tiza (f) for chalk as well as yeso.
Yup thats chalk lol
The dictionary of this site gives meaning of Yeso as 'gypsum, plaster'
http://www.spanishdict.com/translate/yeso.
Chalk is made of gypsum mineral mostly.
