Hi Rhonda
See what I mean about a little patience. You can start learning here. At the top of the page you have "groups" which includes a beginners site. You also have "lessons" which gives various tips and choices. Just start surfing around.
Thank you for the reply! You folks are awesome!! I think I now have what I need to communicate to her what I want to say, without scaring the H---|
out of her! Thank you to all!! Now, how do I start learning spanish!'
Thank you so much Heidita! I know she will love it! Maria has not had any easy life here in the states. She came to our "family" on her way back to Mexico. She had given up, and thought that her only happiness was to go back to a place she couldn't even make a living in. She was leaving her children. On her way to the bus station she saw a sign for our company. We needed employees. She got off the bus and applied with the help of her Aunt. She has been here for almost two years now, and thru a sponsorship program within our company, she will be here a long time, (with her children and her new grandchild).! Thanks!!
¡¡Enhorabuena!!
I am sure she will love this.
Sorry, that's just my feeling a little stupid about the whole situation! I should know this!! I should be able to communicate with her better! I took spanish in high school!! Never thought I'd need it! Now hind sight, well you know! Thanks!
Thank you! I'd like nothing more than to say it to her in her language but, stupid as I was back in the day, I fell asleep in spanish class many years ago not knowing how important it would be in later life. So, that said. If you can just give me the text, I'd appreciate it. Here goes: To Maria, It gives me great pleasure to announce that you have been chosen employee of the month for June 2008.
You are, without a doubt, a very valuable asset to our company. We are both proud of you and respect you, not only in your work, but your intense love of life and your never-ending smile! Congratulations Maria!!
There are plenty of people here who can help you with this but a little more patience on your part would not go amiss.
Empleada del mes = Employee of the month
Write the whole paragraph (or whatever), and we'll translate it for you.
Sorry no one can help me with this problem, I'll try elsewhere. Thank you for your time.
I'd like to tell her how proud we are of her, that she is an excellent example, in all aspects. Including work performance, attendance and especially attitude! She goes above andbeyond what is asked of her. And everyone of her co-workers appreciate not just her work performance but, her!
Hi rhonda, why not give us your English version of what you would like to say and then we can help you with the translation'
