Spanish word for Dingy

Hello, I'm trying to find a spanish word for dingy or small boat. Any help would be appreciated. So far I've found Patera, chalupa (which sounds like a TV ad for a stuffed tortilla and guadano. We're getting a new dingy or tender and want to put a name on it. Thanks in advance. Liz

Dunia, Thank you for your reply. Now I've heard lancha twice, that sounds good but so does chalupa. Thanks, Liz

I've heard the word "chalupa" many times, although I can't specify the context (it is a small boat). I think it is more formal than "lancha".

Dingy: lancha, zodiac

We often use them for diving!!

patera sounds really bad over here as it is the boat on which immigrants come over from Africa.

i don't know chalupa.
