I mean, you need the lyrics and translate them, then compare your translation with official translation on the internet, and try to correct it. and repeat over and over till until you /understand/feel the song, thats that's the best way I think. But you have to love music, and have the necessity of understanding it, like I used to have had ? (o or I did, plz please correct me smile= ), before I started to read lyrics in English, iI dont didn't know. I hope my eEnglish is well good, iI'm learning also. :D

If you like rap = try the same, but on rap
If you like series/movies= watch them in Spanish
what do you like '

Try reading short stories in Spanish and then telling them to someone else using all the new vocabulary you´ve learnt. Or write the story down in your own words (spanish) and then read it outloud.

You need to use every new word you learn for it to stick. And try learning words in context.

As for the tenses, try telling the story in the present tense, then in the past, for example. This will force you to check the conjugations of the verbs you´re not sure of.

For example él dice: he says; él dijo: he said (preterite)
ella hace: she does; ella hizo: she did (preterite)
no sabe lo que pasa: he/she doesn't know what´s happening
no sabía lo que pasaba: he /she didn´t know what was happening (imperfect)

For the above exercise you would have to be aware of the difference between the preterite and the imperfect tense. The more you read, the more it will become clear

conversar o hablar con personas que hablen español. estudiar y estudiar, is the only way my friend.
si logras entener aunque sea un poco de lo que estoy escribiendo en estas lineas, el cual es un consejo de parte de un amigo hispanoparlante, te dire que yo estudio otro idioma y gracias a la paciencia y el estudio, he podido aprender mucho.
