i would like to learn how to speak spanish because all of my friends and family speak it and i feel left out because i dont understand so i want to feel left in you know

Hi...I have felt the same way all my life, the only way and I know because I'm going through it, is take basic classes to form a strong foundation of the basics, I just finished spanish 1&2 at a local community college, I watch novelas, I watch dvds but either use the spanish translation with english subtitles or watch it in english and read spanish subtitles( and always take notes)I listen to spanish radio in my car and even on the computer, I study something in spanish everyday, uploaded a spanish dictionary to my computer and am dedicating myself....one must really immerse oneself into the language. I tried spanish lessons from Cds, I have 4 of them, private tutoring, these things taught me some, but not enough... don't wait like I did...I'm 55 and I'm doing all this....do it now ! If I take all my books I have over 40,000 pages of Spanish grammar, and over 8000 pages of dictionary (in just one dictionary), and even with that you don't always get the answer you are looking for.

If I had to type all that (not to mention translating it), it would take me at least 15 years of my life. Surely you don't want to know EVERYTHING, right? What about a more focussed question, such as "How do you say this sentence"?
